Antihydrogen antimatter unlocking areas of physics!

Researchers at CERN have finally managed to generate a beam of antihydrogen atoms, antimatter, that could unlock new areas of physics.

The team managed this by projecting the antiatoms into a beam aimed directly at a spectroscopic detector.

The atoms were produced by combining positrons and antiprotons produced in the Antiproton Decelerator.

At least 80 of the antihydrogen atoms were detected 2.7 meters (9 feet) downstream of the production chamber.
